Applications are open now!
We make decisions on funding every month so get your application in by the end of each month.
It takes about this long to get funding once you put in your application:
Mātangireia funding – 1 month
Rangiātea funding – 2 months
Wharekura funding – 2 months
Make sure your project starts at least one month after the date that you put your application in.
TiraRangatahi want to kōrero with rangatahi who apply to get a feel for what they want to do before making a decision.
You will need an organisation to receive the funds on your behalf (a Fund Holder). This could be your kura or a not-for-profit organisation. If you are applying for Wharekura funding and already have a charitable trust set up, your Trust may be able to be the Fund Holder.
Check out the ‘who is this funding for’ section under each of the funds.
We do not fund things that have already happened (we don’t reimburse costs)
We don’t generally fund travel and other costs like going to a sports event or another youth gathering. We are focusing this funding on supporting and growing rangatahi-led kaupapa in our rohe rather than funding travel to gatherings/events.
Salaries and wages are not funded under the Mātangireia fund.
We may do. We support projects giving back to the community. Please show us how your business will give back to the community; will you provide your product for free to people experiencing hardship? Will you support other rangatahi to learn skills through your business? If you have developed a social enterprise for rangatahi, then it could get funding. Your organisation needs to be providing a rangatahi development service. Your business needs to be not for profit. If you are applying for Wharekura funding, you need to be aiming to set up a charitable organisation (like a charitable trust or an incorporated society).
It depends. If you are doing an application as a youth worker employed in a youth organisation – we will not fund your work there through this fund. Your organisation might be able to apply to ECCT’s grassroots funding for their kaupapa instead. If you are doing your own thing separately than an organisation, then this funding could be for you. Contact us if you want more info on this rangatahi@ecct.org.nz
No sorry, we are focused on locally grown rangatahi initiatives from within the ECCT rohe only for this funding.
