Following the resignation of General Manager Jonathan Bell, Eastern and Central Community Trust (ECCT) is pleased to announce the appointment of David Clapperton as its new Chief Executive. David will be taking up his new position in early February 2022.
David was formerly the Chief Executive of Horowhenua District Council where he served for eight years and prior to this he held senior leadership roles in local government. The decision to be closer to whanau and having established a solid foundation at Horowhenua Council prompted David’s decision to seek a new challenge in Hawke’s Bay. David commented “I’m excited about the prospect of this role, and working with key stakeholders, ensuring everything ECCT does is seen to contribute to the well-being of the Region and provides added value to the people it serves.”
Georgina Morrison, ECCT Board Chair added “Although saddened by Jonathan Bell’s departure, we are excited to launch a new chapter under the guidance of David Clapperton. David is highly experienced, and the Trustees, Stakeholders and Staff look forward to welcoming him to the ECCT team and seeing where his strategic strengths lead us”.
