Notice: Community Assets & Facilities Fund – On hold till early 2024

Eastern & Central Community Trust’s vision, under its 2023-2030 Strategic Plan is to “accelerate courageous transformational change, that creates vibrant, more sustainable and equitable communities”.  The Plan was launched in April of this year and Trustees and staff are in the process of defining the funding framework and policy that will underpin the new strategic direction. Due to the funding framework being reworked to ensure that we can meet the transformational outcomes of greater equity; better health and well-being; stronger communities and a flourishing environment, the Community Assets and Facilities Fund (CAFF), which grants up to $500,000 per project, is being put on hold to allow a new framework to be created.

The Trustees understand that this will cause concern, particularly for groups part way through the CAFF grant process, however, without the new framework and policy in place, the Trustees feel that it would be inappropriate to continue to award significant grants for projects that don’t fit the new criteria.   To ensure that ECCT can keep granting during this phase, the Grassroots fund, which grants up to $75,000, will continue to operate under the old framework. It is anticipated the new funding framework and policy will be ready in early 2024.

We thank you for your understanding.
